  • My 3D Models

I have been learning 3DStudio MAX off and on for the last year or so. I've done a couple of tutorials on how to make ED209, a Ford Mustang and now I've made my own VW bus without any help from a tutorial. I'll post my models here as I make them.

Wow Split - your best work yet.
How about a chrome tic-tac-toe grill over the headlamps?

Ya gotta put it on an ole beat-up airfield for some final production screenshots, too!
Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

I have to agree, first car was a Dark Blue '73 Super Beetle with the chrome tic-tac-toe headlamp grills. I loved that car, it had a range about 75 miles, when the engine then needed to be rebuilt on the side of the road.

Good job, next you should do a Piper Warrior III

I'm curious as to how this works. Is it a real thing that you can hold? How do you make it? All the models look very cool too.

Panda...it is a 3d model on my computer that I am making using 3d software. It's like the model in FSX, I can move it around and render it in different poses.

If you have the FSX SDK installed, there should be a file called "XtoMDL.exe" somewhere that should allow you to convert your 3DS Max File to a FSX .mdl file. I dont know how to texture things so that FSX will read them, however.

I am amazed at the quality, Split. Relatives I am visiting here in Palo Alto who are in the commercial graphics business are amazed. Re: ak's post, it would be coolness to see some of your work in our community scenery files.
                        Respects, Bob ...

                              My newest model

This is what I'm working on now. I'm about 75% done. It's from another tutorial...learning how to use Mudbox...a 3D
                              sculpting program.
