  • MONDAY MAIL RUN #22: Virginia (short and slow!)

This week: low and very slow, landing on short airstrips, and with a surprise at the end! Our very first mail run started at Washington, DC (though actually in Virginia) in Curtiss Jennys. This week's flight will again start at DC but this time head south, retracing part of Contract Air Mail route CAM-15. Once again the Curtiss Jenny will be a suitable choice, though there are many more possibilities.

Week 22: Washington, DC to Norfolk, VA

    Flight plan and maps here

    AIRSPEED
    65 knots cruise.

    TARGET ALTITUDE
Less than 1,000 feet. All airstrips will be less than 80 ft altitude.

    AIRPLANES
NOTHING WITH A CAPABILITY OF MORE THAN 100 knots (straight and level, 200 ft asl)!
    • So, for example, the default Cessna 172 and the Robinson R22 are both too fast.
    • Although the default Trike is slow enough, our server policies don't allow them.

Some suggested aircraft (short take-off/landing, and very slow):
    SCENERY
Default OK, but ensure your graphics settings are as below.
Highly recommended: FSgenesis US landclass (inexpensive payware).

IMPORTANT! ENSURE YOUR SCENERY SETTINGS ARE AT LEAST THIS:

Reminder! Bring your aircraft for a 9pm ET sharp take-off from KDCA. No aircraft capable of more than 100 kts.
Trivia question: What is this? Who is it associated with? How is she related to tonight's flight?
