This week: low and very slow, landing on short airstrips, and with a surprise at the end! Our very first mail run started at Washington, DC (though actually in Virginia) in Curtiss Jennys. This week's flight will again start at DC but this time head south, retracing part of Contract Air Mail route CAM-15. Once again the Curtiss Jenny will be a suitable choice, though there are many more possibilities.
Week 22: Washington, DC to Norfolk, VA Flight plan and maps here AIRSPEED 65 knots cruise. TARGET ALTITUDE Less than 1,000 feet. All airstrips will be less than 80 ft altitude. AIRPLANES NOTHING WITH A CAPABILITY OF MORE THAN 100 knots (straight and level, 200 ft asl)!
