CIAS 2013 - "Bad Lighting and Slightly Out-of-Focus" Edition

Hi guys, just got back from Day 1 of 3 at the airshow here in Toronto, and thought I would share some pictures and videos. This was my first time using this camera, and while it is just a cheap point and shoot, it does take some good pictures... when you actually know what you're doing. The entire time, I had this strange auto-focus enabled. That, coupled with an overcast day and the line facing directly into the sun led to some not so great pictures and videos. But, I am going back tomorrow and I did have a good time none the less, and managed to get a few almost decent shots. So here you go, enjoy!

Thanks for those shots ak! :eagerness: The Harrier reminded me of seeing a line of 6 of them at Farnborough a few years ago, all bowing together toward the crowd line. It was the loudest noise I'd ever heard, short of an Avro Vulcan flying overhead or Concorde passing by (the latter being over very quickly!). And the Snowbird burst is a great shot; it shows you exactly how to do it.

Wow, 6 Harriers must have been quiet the sound. While in hover, just the one was enough to literally shake every bone in my body, it was an amazing feeling. PS. I love Farnborough! Though have never actually been, it's one of my favourite spots to check out on YouTube especially for some Vulcan action! That as well as Beachy Head and the Mach Loop.

Just got back from Day 2 and it was better than the first! I didnt do much filming or picture taking, but man was it ever enjoyable! Pics and videos to come shortly, I think I have a better video of the Harrier this time around.

Thanks Hawg! The CH-146 was actually on standby for the airshow, but for some reason the Beech 18 didnt show up so I guess they contacted the Coast Guard and managed to convince them to do a demo. It was great to watch.
