  • Favourite Sounding Aircraft?

Hey everyone! Just curious to know what aircraft you enjoy hearing the most.

One of my personal favourites has got to be P-51. Can't get enough of that whistle!

So please, share some videos or even just audio clips of your favourite sounding aircraft in action!

As nice as a P-51 sounds, I really like sounds of a radial-powered aircraft demonstration team.

Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

Excellent choice! In fact, I think I remember you mentioning something to that effect nearly 2 years ago to the day. I'm not sure that you'll remember, but I had no one to go to the airshow with so I was on Teamspeak (which I'll be doing again this year ) with you and a few others while the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team were doing their routine.

The only reason I remember it so well is because I have some videos from that day. Here's some more great sounding radials!

I like the Lancaster but we all know how that sounds.

Another favourite of mine is the Avro Vulcan, the sound known as the "Vulcan Howl" when the throttles are opened to (I think) 95% or more.

I've used tubechop to chop the original video so you just get the sound. (not my video by the way)

F-16. Gotta love a jet that uses hydrazine to start up! They are NOISY up close! It's one heck of an eardrum piercing noise when they start up.
When God finally says, "King, my office. Now!" I want to go barreling in there half spun out with holes in my clothes, smoke rising from me, and my hair in a mess. I want to be busy. I don't want to go explain myself and not have a great story to go along with it.

Interesting, was certainly expecting a Vulcan to be posted but not an F-16!

I too am a big fan of the "Vulcan Howl", and love seeing the Vulcan fly. Its just so big and awkward and powerful, I love it!

Did not know the F-16 used hydrazine to start up, very interesting. Speaking of high pitched noises and F-16's, I saw a really great video last month I think you guys might like

Can't get much lower than that

Yup, and hydrazine is NASTY stuff. Somewhere on my computer I've got a video I shot of an F-16 taking off at night with full burners. 40ft from the runway standing in the grass with some buddies of mine that are in the USAF. Heck of an experience.

I like the 757 sound because of that loud buzzing sound when you hit full throttle

Bf 109 (DB 605 spec). Just listen to that tiny whitsling noise!

Second is the grand Merlin, boy was that a growl!
                    Cheers,

                    Yours Truly
