  • Army of airplanes

Not mine, but a cool video for anyone who loves aviation.

A photography and film professor named Cy Kuckenbaker recorded every plane that landed at the San Diego International Airport on Black Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Then edited and time-lapsed the video into a 25-second masterpiece.

"The concept is simple," Kuckenbaker told PetaPixel.com. "Shoot the individual planes flying across a pure blue sky, then chroma key the blue out as if it's a green or blue screen leaving only the plane behind. Then put them all together on a video timeline.

"I needed 40 video tracks to stack all the airplane clips together."

Hmmm, why are they all at different heights? Cool video.

Neat video - but nothing out of the ordinary, considering it's exactly what the approach looks like when msFlights.net hosts a group flight!
Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

I would venture to say that they are at different heights due to the good weather, and thus not working the instrument approach.

Could be, but most airlines have rules that their airplanes must use the ILS even if it is VFR. I don't know about southwest though so it could be.
