The major difference in my shot is ENBseries. I use that in addition to Shade. ENBseries is free though you can spend a lot of time messing with the config in line with its copious documentation, or just take a pre-done one. In fact there are several in this forum somewhere, or I can send you mine!

Shade is good. It's inexpensive and yes I'm using it. But it makes most difference at twilight, which this no longer was.

ENB is also something I wont fly without, it makes a world of difference but can also be the source of massive headaches. What looks good one day might not the next, it will look great the day but you won't be able to see a thing at night, I've probably spent more time switching out enb palettes and tweaking the .cfg than any other FSX tweaking. I do think its worth it though.
I took some ENB on/off shots a while ago if anyone would like to compare. Open each picture in a new tab and switch back and forth.

SweetFX should produce the same result as ENB, although setting them up is different. Although I have seen people using it with DX9, I usually see people posting using it with DX10 and ENB is not compatible with DX10. It also works with DX11, so something to remember if needed with Prepar3d 2.0.
I have personally stopped using it as like ENB it doesn't work well with undocked windows moved to another monitor.
