Hello everyone,
It's been awhile, I have been very busy as now a father of 2 (6 year old girl and an 11 month old boy) and undergoing professional flight training. In fact I just passed my ground portion of my checkride this afternoon and got a discontinuance due to weather, I will be finishing up the flight portion next week (from this posting). If Travis stops by for his reference I am not training under part 141 I am under part 61.
It's been a long road with some struggles to get where I am due to my eye injury but its more than possible. I have no useful vision in my left eye, and I had to get a SODA (Statement Of Demonstrated Ability) from a medical test flight with either an ASI or DPE, its the FSDO's discretion there. It took 1 year & 6 months just to get that taken care of after I started flying under a Temporary 1st Class Medical (needed to see if I could get a 1st class to make sure I could go to the airlines if that is what I choose to do).
Since I have been doing a lot of IRL flying I really don't fly in MSFS that much anymore, it really does take it out of you, I don't know why but it just seems that way, at least for me. I hope all of you have been doing well, and I will try to stop by from time to time to check back in.
