US Army Golden Knights Sargent First Class Corey Hood was killed at the Chicago Air and Water Show when he collided with a US Navy Leap Frog parachutist yesterday afternoon, the Leap Frog suffered minor injuries(a reported broken leg from the collision), and SFC Hood pulled his emergency shoot(Eye witness accounts after that say he was unconscious), SFC Hood ran into a building and free fell roughly 22 stories, he was transported to the hospital and died from his injuries this evening.

Biographical Sketch:
"SFC Corey Hood is a 13F, Forward Observer serving as Demonstration Parachutist for the
Black Demonstration Team.
Hood enlisted into the Army more than ten years ago and attended Basic Training and
Advanced Individual Training at Ft Sill, OK. Immediately after he went to Ft Benning to
attend the Basic Airborne Course. He has served as a Forward Observer, Team Chief,
Platoon Sergeant, and an Airborne Instructor. Corey has served five tours of Duty in Iraq
and Afghanistan.
Previous assignments include; Forward
Observer in the 3/319th AFAR, Ft Bragg,
NC. Team Chief/Squad Leader in the 25th
Infantry Division. Airborne Instructor at
1/507th PIR at Ft Benning, GA. A Platoon
Sergeant while serving with 3rd BCT 101st
Airborne Division Leader Rakkasan’s.
SFC Hood has been awarded two Bronze
Stars, 2 Meritorious Service Medals, five
Army Commendation Medals, five Army
Achievement Medals, Master Parachutist
Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault
Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.
Corey began jumping in 2010 and has
logged over 500 free fall jumps and 75
military static line jumps.
In his free time he enjoys watching sports,
riding motorcycles, skydiving and spending
time with the family"
