  • FSX is not so buggy in Windows 10 Preview

Hey guys just installed the windows 10 preview edition. I was running 8.1 and FSX was so buggy I could hardly play it most of the time. just started right up. Ran through a couple quick missions with no issues at all.

Also, I use a third party console controller(to poor for a good setup) and it run the controller much better.

Just wanted to let you all know there is hope.

    Thanks.:joyous:

I've held off registering for Windows 10 until one important question was answered: "The upgrade may be free, but will there be an ongoing cost?" I think I know now.

I watched David Cattanach's video today (published 2015-07-16). David is Director of Imageframe Ltd., a British company who are specialists in Microsoft training and Silver Learning Microsoft Partners. He was previously an Enterprise Technical Specialist at Microsoft. He explained the following.

For normal home users (= consumers), advanced home users and lightweight commercial users [my classifications], the free upgrade path available in the first year will be:
    • Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 Home Basic and Home Premium can upgrade to Windows 10 Home.
    • Windows 8/8.1 Pro and Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

So far, so good. Then he answered my crucial question: "Is it going to be an ongoing cost (like Office 365)?"

"No," he said. "Windows will be an evergreen service, just like Office 365, but for Home and Pro there's no ongoing annuity. For Enterprise, there is: there's that SA [Software Assurance]; you must maintain the SA otherwise Enterprise will not be updated."

I have Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. So (Cattanach says) it will be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro for free in the first year. And there will be no ongoing cost.

    Sweet.

Yeah I actually find alot of games to be less "buggy" though with windows 10 coming along very well, you would expect things to work well on it.
