  • Altitude Prob..??

New to FSX-Steam (but not MSFS)...
Downloaded FSX-Steam yesterday and all seems to be working OK - except the Altimeter??
In IFR mode, I get repeated msg from Aut-ATM to "Expedite Descent to X,000 ft - even when the Altimeter shows I am already at X,000 ft Altitude... Anyone experience this..???

Hmm I have not, what aircraft were you flying, or is it for all of them?

make sure to reset your altimeter on the way down (by pressing B)

        Thank you kind sirs...
This is in the Beechcraft King Air (one of the Steam fleet).
I know about the "B" button to reset the Altimeter - but I'm getting these messages at below 10,000 ft (Baro at 2992).
Scenario: on approach YAPD, The altimeter is showing 3000ft with the Auto-ATC repetitively telling me to "expedite your descent to 3000 feet"..!!
But this also happens at other FL's when connected to Auto-ATC in ILR...
Haven't really tried any other a/c - Will see what happens using a Baron (or A320... lol...)

          Hi Jedo,

When you are below 18000ft (I think) the Barometric is variable based on weather conditions. Once you are above that altitude then it remains constant at 29.92. If you are running real world weather especially you will need to be constantly tapping that in the background (and I suggest "D" as well, keeps your heading aligned)

          Great explination BTW
