  • Mult-axis throttle & FSUIPC

I’ve found a useful feature of FSUIPC that may prove useful for anyone else with a controller that uses multiple levers for throttles. I have the registered version. I don't know if this tool is available in the free/unregistered version.

In the JOYSTICK CALIBRATION tab the controllers can be set to automatically detect the number of engines on an aircraft in the simulator and assign the correct levers to the desired axis of the controller.

    • Ensure the axis are enabled in the simulator’s options.
    • Open the FSUIPC interface
    • Select the JOYSTICK CALIBRATION tab
    • Press the [Right] arrow button to select “3 of 11: Separate throttles per engine”
    • Adjust to desired operation in this menu.

In my instance I have a dual throttle control with Saitek’s X-55. I’ve been irritated with having to change axis assignments every time I switch from aircraft with one or two engines to aircraft with more. Selecting the MAP area under the “Throttle 4” section solved this for me. Now when I switch into a 4 engine aircraft the left throttle handle controls the left engines (1 & 2), while the right throttle handle controls the rights engines (3&4). Switching back into a twin reverts the left handle to engine 1 and the right handle to engine two. What a time/nag saver for me!!

Looks great, especially as I am about to get the X-55 myself!

One question....is this the registered version or the unregistered version of FSUIPC?

    Cheers

I must have deleted that sentence in an edit. I added back in. I have the registered version. Unsure about the free version.

Thanks, Karl. This specifically applies to my Thrustmaster dual throttle and my C-130 flights. I'll so reconfigure my throttle quadrant before tonight's flight.

This is for the registered version only.

You can setup profiles per plane/controller.
eg. it will detect the aircraft and controller that is pluged in.

Only drawback - If you use FSUIPC to do all controller config by turning off the controllers in FSX then you have to set a profile for ever type of aircraft you fly (can copy and past).

            I do as Oz mentioned..

I have profiles for the following types:

            Single engine stick
            twin engine stick
            4 engine stick
            single engine yoke
            twin engine yoke
            4 engine yoke
            helicopter

Then when I launch a new aircraft I just have to tell it which profile to copy from. I love it.
