I would like to add that since there are only six general purpose rooms and one ATC room, please don't just sit in a room being idle. If you are in a room by yourself idle, you are subject to be moved. There are too few rooms for that. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

This may supercede the above post from Warhawk on january of 2013 because there are so many more people here now.

Would just like to ask people that if they are aware of an ATC session at an airport and don't have TS3 NOT to taxi/manoeuvre around said airport!!!!
It really does ruin the whole idea of an ATC session. Please be respectful of others, if you want to join in JUST GET TEAMSPEAK!!!

Barny, thank you for your input, and first post. Please continue to contribute.
That is something we are always trying to encourage pilots to avoid.
Most of them are well-intended, I think, and just need to learn etiquette. And your frustration is shared by us all. The good thing is that they share a common interest with us and want to fly; that is, we all here because we want to be.
Also, ATC is best avoided at the host airport for the FSX session, as pilots entering the sim will spawn there.

Download the teamspeak client first from this page.
                  http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

                  Install it.

Open it up, and click bookmarks at the top.
                  Click Manage Bookmarks.

                  Label: MsFlights
                  address: msflights.net
                  nickname: Gucksss

                  hit apply, hit OK.
Click bookmarks and click the bookmark you added.

                  Alas' you should be connected.

After reasonable request(s) for mic control that go either unheeded or are not possible to successfully implement, movement to such a PTT enforcement room should be invoked. I personally cannot make voice activation come anywhere near working correctly consistently and I will always push to talk with my boom mic and my external speakers. I agree with this method of mic control by the moderators wholeheartedly.
If push to talk does not work when in fsx, run ts3 as an admin then it works fine!

the rules are a bit one sided and too broad and general which DO NOT Adhere to every situation... I don't believe or appreciate the a** reaming i got for being in the GP room by myself. The rules need to be changed to be a little more specific to handle general problems of what is and is not acceptable behavior. This problem of being broad and general allow some admin/operators to make up their own rules and allow them to scream and a** ream other members without provocation.

In my opinion if we had better specific designed rules and regulations it would curb the acting alone on the operator/admin part who seem to think they have the right to try to invoke rules that do not exist.

(If i recall rule 2 is to NOT abuse other members at any time.) If i recall one rule that seems to have been tossed out the window with recent events.

                          Just my two cents.

It is common and accepted community practice that owing to limited space on the server it is polite and appropriate to not occupy a channel by yourself.

A channel is a space for people to engage with each other in activities, not somewhere to just sit and be.

Understood, but it seemed no one else has been given the chew out like i have endured twice now. Just for sitting in the room by himself. I point out that i actually asked if it was alright by a server admin and it was approved for me to do so... and i point out too that i wasn't in there twiddling my thumbs. I was engaged flying. So it was not like i was in there doing nothing at all...

I understand the space limitations of the server and will adhere to the the rules. No issue there.

I am just suggesting that clearer guidelines would greatly helpful that's all.

Well Dude, we have these Rules since 2012 and till now nobody complained about it. Now you come, a new broom in the clothet and wanna change some Rules, because you do not understand?
Eat this again, shew and swallow it again:
                                General Purpose Rooms 1-5
These rooms have been provided to give our members a place to hang out with friends away from the main channel. These rooms are provided first come first serve. As such, please do not leave yourself in a GP room when noone else is in it.

So, What part u don't understand? I gues , you got a Memberbatch, and with that you accepted OUR community Terms and Rules. If you wasn't informed correctly, well, sorry for that, we will try to do this better, but if an Admin/Operator find you hanging around in these rooms for a long periode alone, he will come to you and beg you for leave the room. i know it is part of human being and allways a childish reaction to say:" there are people in the other rooms alone too". thats right but you don't know in this moment, if the Admin/Operator did not spoke or textmessage to this person. And, be shure, out
Admins/Operators don't make their own Rules here. It is you choice to accept them or.....

                                Best Regards,

                                Casey

Oops, i forgot to ask you, Would you go into a public phonebox, close the door and sit there alone for hours????
