Well I tried to install Gold Edition Today, what a nightmare!!!!

Don't care about saving logbooks or rewards (should) but have spent three and a half hours with no luck. When inserting Disk 1 in the drive and clicking the exe. file I just keep getting 'older version of FSX installed' Any help would be appreciated, I knew this was going to happen. I also get english version required.

I have the original packakging and my Product Key

I've been down for almost two weeks now. Think I have narrowed the problem down to this error message at the end of loading FSX Disk 2
      Unhandled Exception

      Error Number: 0X80040702
DEscription: Failed to load DLL: GameuxInstallHelper

I'm throwing down the gaunlet on this site. Surely someone on here can help me fix this problem. I'm a die hard FSXer and not being able to play is killing me. Can you server admin guru types have one of your meetings and see if anuyone can assist? I'm willing to spend as long as it takes

This looks like a fix here, says it applies to FSX as well, so might be worth trying if you havent already

Nice find AK! That looks very good to me. If you still have problems we could try to meet up and I could take a look.

Or teamviewer works too, without the hour drive.

              Hi guys,

It was a no go with the Microsoft hyperlink fix (appreciate the suggestion though). I'm going to try and hook up with HawgDawg. HawdDawg; email me at leprechaunbgc@gmail.com with a time that's good for you. I'm willing to work around you're schedule. or just post a time here and I'll have Team Speak and Team Viewer ready to go

This website decodes error codes. I have included your error code in the link

                Decode error code 0X80040702

This website is used to lookup SYSTEM ERROR CODES. I am not yet sure it is the type of code you got, but its all I have for you. What worrys me is that the decoder calls this a WARNING which a Unhandled Exception probably isn't.

                http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.85%29.aspx

The error code is 0X0702 in hex or 1794 in decimal

                ERROR_REDIRECTOR_HAS_OPEN_HANDLES
1794 (0x702) The redirector is in use and cannot be unloaded.

I don't know of this helps all that much. The context of the error and the reference to the offending DLL is very important. I hope this help a bit.

Please get in touch with HawgDawg who can put ALL this information into a comprehensive whole for you.
