They're amazingly well-made games. Steam just had a sale on them, you may be able to pick them up for cheap yet.

Interesting turn of events. I wonder how long this was planned, unless it really was a last minute decision to extend it and leave it open for an overhaul in the future.

After I retired, my lovely daughter thought I needed to use my computer for more than just email and photo editing. So one year she bought me Portal for Father's day, and then later Portal II so we both could play together. This opened the door to using my computer for other games.
I always have loved aircraft, airshow photography, and anything related to flying, so many months later somewhat reluctantly I downloaded and played MS Flight where I met a bunch of new people, and experienced the fun and friendship it was.
Eventually I followed my new friends over to FSX and msflights.net. The rest, as they say, is "history".

Multi-player works.
VidkenDrake is here!
That's a name from the past!
Plus an aerocache at the Hilo VOR stanchion.
P.S.
When I fired up MSF I had to "update", but it's been a while since I've flown so it could have been unrelated to the date.

I have followed Novawing's "insider" knowledge of Microsoft's Flight server intentions for many months now. Please, Nova, I have difficulty staying in touch on this and many other flight sim related topics dear to my heart with my current travels so keep the forum updated on whatever news or rumor link you may have. Coast, I don't have Microsoft Flight installed on my travel computer (the old "Henderson Server" H-P i7 laptop) but might I propose "occupying" the Microsoft Flight servers in an attempt to indicate continued user interest in multiplayer and maybe also to block server shutdown? Thanks to all who are keeping an eye on the developments of msFLIGHTS.net's original software platform.

Tomorrow is JULY 1st, the day that rumors originally had it that the MS Flight multiplayer servers were scheduled to become kaput! Given we now have new rumors to possible changes to status of the multiplayer servers for MS Flight, what should we do for today and/or tomorrow?

With all the rumours kicking around about the future of Flight, one interesting removal of information has caught my eye.
Previously there was a notification on theFlight Facebook page and on the official website that the multiplayer servers would be going offline on 1st July. However all reference to this has now been removed. Indeed Microsoft released an official statement to game informer all references to a shutdown date have been removed
We are continuing to support the Games for Windows Live service. As previously announced, as part of the retirement of Microsoft Points the Xbox.com PC marketplace was closed. Although customers are unable to purchase new games from the marketplace or receive title updates, they can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading them through the Games for Windows Live client as usual. We remain committed to investing in PC gaming in the years ahead, and look forward to sharing more in the future.
So maybe we will have the servers for a bit longer!!
Safe skies
