The Day of the Dude is a celebration of the deeply casual. It takes place on March 6th each year at the end of the Dudeist holy festival of Hangover (that begins on February 27th, National Kahlua Day). March 6th was the official release date of The Big Lebowski in 1998.

Cruise
60 knots (70 mph) at no more than 2000 feet.
Aircraft
Slow and relaxing. If it can do much more than 80 knots, it's probably too fast. Some suggestions:
- Piper J-3 Cub (default)
- AirCreation Trike Ultralight (default)
- Curtiss Jenny (here)
- Zeppelin NT (here)
- Corben Baby Ace (here)
- Aviatika-MAI-890 (main picture above) = "The White Russian" (here + essential mods here)*
Scenery
No special scenery is required (unlike last year). Default is OK. Vector can be active.
Frame rates
Pilots whose simulators are prone to frame rate problems may want to reduce scenery complexity.
Weather
Fair weather (default) recommended.

Dudeism The Day of the Dude is the high holiday of Dudeism, which claims to be the slowest growing religion in the world with nearly 400,000 followers. In the remote possibility of your wanting to find out more, check out the Dudeism website or the Dudeism Facebook page. If reading's your thing, there's a whole bunch of books available. |
