Calling all pilots! There's a STOL competition taking place on Saturday, September 19th at 2:30pm Eastern!
What is STOL?
STOL stands for Short-Take-Off & Landing
How the competition will work:
- Participants will be allowed 3 landing attempts per class.
- The shortest distance for landing roll combined with touch-down precision on the threshold line will be declared winner by the 2 line judges.
- Aircraft must be exclusive to the class listed below - if you do not own one or more of the aircraft listed, you may still spectate and cheer on your fellow aviators!
*The take-off portion will be excluded from this competition due to fuel/weight/trim inconsistencies, however in a normal STOL competition it would be a part of the competition.
Weight/Aircraft Categories
- Heavy Class (Savage Cub)
- Light Class (X-Cub)
- Kite Class (Shock Ultra)
Airport ICAO - 24A
(Ample time to practice at this airfield!)
Important Sim Settings:
Clear Skies - 12:00pm Local time
Weight/Fuel/Trim Limitations:
Since we are only focusing on landing for this competition, any fuel/trim/weight setting is fair game.
This will be the first non-destination event like this that we will be doing. If this goes well, it will open the door up for events like these!
Winners for each class will get a custom avatar for use on our website.
