  • Around the World Lap 5 - --- Episode 43: Ice Age Rampage- 12,000 BCE, Sapporo Japan --Thu 9pm eastern

Hey guys! Looks like its time for another night of delivering cargo in those majestic Herky-birds!

Thursday night we will conclude our journey through northern Japan. HQ informs us that this years Ice Festival in Sapporo Japan is in danger of not having enough snow and ice for all of the traditional festival activities! Our mission on Thursday will be to set the "singularity drive" for the year 12,000 BCE in order to visit the last ice age and gather as much snow and ice as possible.

Here is the plan for this cargo run:

    RJSF- Depart RW 01
    RJSY- RW 27
    RJSI- RW 02
    RJSA- RW 06
    RJCC- RW 01L

A detailed flightplan .PLN file for this flight can be found here:

This flight will take place using JoinFS!

As always with these Around the World flights the preferred aircraft is the timeless Captain sim C130 Hercules, but feel free to use any cargo prop that can maintain 260 KIAS at around 10,000 ft. Please do Not bring a jetliner to this event because they stick out like a sore thumb and are a distraction.

    Not sure what to fly?

For those who don't have or don't want to fly the C-130, this should help you decide.
    • An-12 Most similar to C-130. Most extras (airbrake, autothrottle, paradrop). Russian annotations. Most difficult to fly.
    • An-32 Most frame-rate friendly. Best cockpit model. Easy to fly except long spool time. Needs refueling on long flights.
    • Howard 500 Easy for piston engine pilots. Best climber. Tail-dragger. Performance tails off at altitude. Poorest frame rates.
    • C-119 Boxcar Easiest to fly.
      • Re-engined (French) variant: Faster. Normal climb rates.
      • Normal engine variants: Slower. Half the climb rate so gets left behind on short-medium length flights.

    Happy landings,

I am going to ~try~ to fly a C-17 tonight in VR. I say try because I flew something big in VR this afternoon and the landing was ..... well let's just say I am glad I was flying offline and not in a group flight.

If you would like an AI C-17 I put one in the location that I post my flightplans, . There is also a AI 777 there. I will be flying that on the weekend.
