Calling all Beta Testers...



We will be hosting the first ever Dovetail games group flight. As such, we will be having some very special guests here from the Dovetail development team.
This flight will be locked to beta testers and will take place in the Dovetail Beta Testing channel.


Here are the flight details.

We will be departing from Chatham-Kent (CNZ3) in Chatham, Ontario, and we will fly VOR style to the Chigaco, Il (KORD) for a total of 268 miles.

The flight plan would look something like this. CNZ3 (Chatham) - LFD (Litchfield VOR) - GIJ (Gipper VOR) - TAFFS (Intercection lines up Runway 27R) - KORD (Chicago)

For you true enthusists.
LFD VOR Freq 111.20
GIJ VOR Freq 115.40
TAFFS Intercections closest VOR is ORD @ 113.9
Landing and departing Runway 27, you have the option.

We should fly default aircraft for testing purposes because add-on aircraft complicate multi-player in ways that cannot be predicted.

I've wondered on a few occasions whether conversations on the topic were helping or hurting our relationship with Dovetail, and I would feel more confident in my assessment of those situations after reviewing the NDA.

Is the NDA under NDA?

If not, I'd like to look at it in order to assist in gauging information sensitivity and guiding public forum conversation away from NDA-sensitive topics when necessary.

I figure that the NDA-sensitivity of this post is likely to hinge on whether knowledge of the beta test program's existence and of its participants is permissible. I think that's the only information disclosed herein.

In light of Dovetails announcement that they will be releasing their version of FSX to market on December 18 I withdraw my concerns.

I googled this December 18th release date. Can anybody confirm that FSUIPC now works? If FSUIPC still does not show up on add-ons tab in-game, there will be problems with the paying customer base.

I can only assume that such commercial release will end the beta testing and will suggest the dissolving of our beta testing organization within msFLIGHTS.net. Right?

I won't discuss further this public release announcement and how that effects our community's involvement with testing but I'd sure like to meet up with the core group of testers in Hawg's locked Dovetail TS channel in our TS for some chat and consensus on testing plans going forward. That is to say...are we finished?

From what I understand all you need to worry about is revealing "confidential" material to people that have not signed the NDA. As long as you don't talk about specific features Dovetail has added and do not share screenshots or videos with the public you should be ok.

In light of the public release announcement, I will unilaterally decide to take BigBox off Dovetail server duties immediately and return BigBox to special msFLIGHTS.net community configuration request duties. I will continue to guard my public discussions of tester-private topics and I still want to talk in Dovetail TS channel private with those testers who have actively participated within our community.

To those staff who have sought inclusion in the beta testing corps, I will not further pursue my email based efforts to urge Dovetail to send you tester application.

Sorry to say It looks like I will not be flying with the group as I still can not connect but will keep trying (1 in 20~30 times work). Hope to see you in TS. I was hoping they would have had an update over night (my time) but no.
