  • ATC tutorials

Hi guys as promised and requested this is the first of my atc tutorials.

This weeks lesson will focus on ground comms and taxi clearances.

I have been working on a word press site that aims to help people with atc communications please take 5 mins to have a look:
    http://atctutorials.wordpress.com

Please arrive in a default aircraft to avoid lag issues and strange substitutions.

There are 2 recommended free software downloads and they are:

    pilot assistant- http://www.fsopen.co.uk/pilots/pilotassistant/

    Flight strips- http://www.fsopen.co.uk/atc/flightstrip/

I look forward to seeing you there and note there will be a chances to ask questions at multiple points during the event so if there is something you don't understand please write it down and wait as if everyone asks questions we will never progress with the lesson.

I will personally attend these tutorials. Edd and all other ATC operators and managers have my appreciation for what they do around here. I think that if we as a community are interested in popularizing and supporting our ATC operations in FLIGHTS.net, it is necessary to make an effort to show support at the member level as well as interested staff.

That being said, I've not actively participated as a controlled pilot in our ATC airspace or channel. I believe I'll start such participation with lessons and refreshers like I read being presented in this event-tutorial. I'll show up as a prepared student and less importantly as interested staff.
    Respects, Bob ...

Thank you Edd for a great introductory lesson in the ways of ATC.

I very much appreciated the combination of Theory and then putting it into practice.

I would highly recommend anyone who would like to learn about the ways of ATC, whether it be to become a controller in FSX, work with controllers in FSX or are just curious about it to attend these lessons and read the work that Edd has put in at http://atctutorials.wordpress.com
