Australian Grand Tour - First Leg! YBBN to YSTW

G'day Pilots!

I am starting a new weekly event to take on a Grand Tour of Australia!

This tour will take quite a while as Australia is a BIG place! To start our tour we will be departing from my home airport of YBBN (Brisbane International).

Additionally we will be partnering in this flight with the MSFlights VA and many of our flights will include sectors of the VA routes, so if you are looking at bumping up some VA time this might be the series for you!

In there as well is a special repaint of the default King Air 350 that I will be flying for this tour.

Our Flight plan is as follows:

YBBN -> YBCG -> YBNA -> YGFN ->(MSF2383) YIVL -> (MSF2384) YSTW









Departure Time: 2200AEST (0800 ET 1200Z)

Recommended aircraft: Turbo props that can cruise around 200kts. (I will be flying the Default Kingair 350)
Recommended Terrain Mesh: Orbx Freeware Australia Holgermesh
Optional: Orbx Australia (Payware) + Ozx Australia (Freeware)

I'll have to be up at 0430PDT but I shall be there, along with God knows how much coffee! I'm looking forward to it Nova. Haven't taken the King Air for a spin in a while.

If Gimpy commits as I read here, I'm in also (same timezone). I'm not sure if I'll have to set an alarm or if I'll still be up from Friday night (Pacific time zone). I personally wish this Australian Tour successful Group Flight "Iconic" status but you're going to have to be good, Novawing, to populate a flight at this US time. We use the word "Iconic" to indicate a popular well planned group flight that occurs at the same time every week, often with the same flight theme repeatedly.

As an alternative turboprop, may I recommend the Sus Scrofa SS-4P? This 1100HP canard single is cozy and nimble, and 20 knots faster than the Kingair.

It's very easy to fly, but be sure to nail final approach speed close to 120 knots, and never pull the stick back too quickly (unless you like high speed stalls!).

You'll find the Sus Scrofa (= "Wild Boar") in the Modern Oddities hangar of my OneDrive with 10 liveries.

I would definitely endorse this aircraft for the flight! Remember to set your ABS (check your keyboard commands in FSX) and reverse thrust settings for some of the airports we are going to!
