So just when we thought that we were only going to be flying in Alaska from now on, we get this call from some folks in Whitehorse, Yukon desperately trying to find some Canadian flags for Canada Day on July 1st. Somehow they ordered 5000 Canadian Flags from their supplier in China who shipped them a whole bunch of American flags by mistake. It's too late now to get enough Canaian flags for Canada day, and they are looking at alternate suppliers to fill the gap.
During our trip up the Canadian coast to Alaska selling our "special" Canadian flags (for a substantial profit!), it has become known to the people in Whitehorse that we have "contacts" there who might be able to get a hold of some Canadian flags quickly. However, since the price we want for our "enhanced" Canadian flags seemed way to high for them, this deal almost didn't happen. Fortunately, our "contacts" stepped in to save the day, and agreed to cover most of the cost of the Canadian flags out of "patriotic" motives. They also agreed to collect and "dispose" of these flags after the celebration was over. What a benevolent bunch of "contacts" we have!
We are going to pretend we delivered are flags on time for Canada Day, when actually this group flight will take place a day AFTER it!
Since we got the price we wanted for our Canadian flags, we will be diverting to Whitehorse, Yukon this week to deliver our cargo. We will then return to Alaska by a yet unspecified route.
