THIS WILL BE AN MS FLIGHT EVENT FOR THOSE THAT HAVE THE C-46 LIVERY ON MS FLIGHT!
The Curtiss C-46 made its first flight on March 26, 1940. On the 74th anniversary of this date, we will fly "Around Oahu" starting at the old Hicham field
We will depart from "Hicham Field" which is now Runway 26L of Honolulu International, and make a 180º RIGHT turn to fly over the National Memorial of the Pacific. We will continue toward Diamond Head flying east and round Oahu 's eastern tip, and head for Bellows Field. Bellows is bit hard to land on so be careful! We will land, quickly roll over to another runway between the trees to the right, and immediate departure toward the water. We will continue on to Kaneohe Bay rounding the eastern tip of the island, and land on the runway 22.
We will depart from Kaneohe Bay from runway 22, and fly along the northern shore to the northern tip of Oahu. After rounding the northern tip , we will land on runway 26 at Dillingham. We will continue to taxi to runway 08, and after all have landed we will depart from runway 08. Our next destination will be Wheeler AFB, flying low down the valley to Wheeler, and landing on runway 06 with a quick sideslip left hand turn.
Finally we will depart Wheeler on runway 06, and make a RIGHT turn out toward John Rogers Field with left traffic for runway 22L.
