I just have to interrupt everyone's exploration of the forum, activity stream, calendar of events, pictures, videos, etc. to say that it's an awesome feeling to check the site randomly on a Sunday morning and see this:
We've always deliberated, discussed, and debated the cause of the inexplicable popularity of msFlights.net; some may say it's the reliability, others might point to the features (VA, ATC, teamspeak3, forum, etc), still more could reference the people, or perhaps it's the logo. . . Whatever it is that draws us together, I know one thing for sure: It's our responsibility -- each of us -- to never let go of whatever we each feel makes msFlights.net so awesome. Protect it, respect each other, and as always, happy flying!

So what is it that makes YOU a part of msFlights.net? I'd love to hear your comments. :encouragement:
I read your post and reread it, then read it again. Then I started thinking, always a dangerous event.
What makes our (not so little) community a success? Indeed as you say there are many facets that make up the whole that is MSFlights.net, but what is the beating heart? It is tempting to say the people and indeed that is a huge part of it, however for me it is WHAT those people bring together..... inspiration.
Many a late night or early morning I have come on and listened to the banter, watched the growth and success of our members, have been hard at work only to be distracted with fascination about what is happening on the website when I should probably be working.
I have found direction when I was lost, I have been gifted ideas when none was forthcoming. But above all I have been given inspiration to push myself and to experiment with things I know virtually nothing about. Before a chance meeting with some members of the community here and being welcomed with open skies, I knew nothing of Photoshop, of creating liveries, editing and creating scenery or of making and editing videos.
It is down to the inspiration that the MSFlights community has gifted me that I now know these things. And whilst I may not be very good at them I am excited to wake up of a morning looking forward to challenges that I may be faced with wherever they might be because I know that there are others out there who share passions which I hold dear. And if the skies darken, there will always be a rotating beacon of green and white to guide me safely home.
The world is a brighter place because of this community, and together our journey has only just begun.
We came here to fly, and that's exactly what we'll do

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly our group succeeded! Originally in the early days I decided to host weekly flights in Microsoft Flight because I remembered how fun it was flying with friends back in the day on Flight Simulator 2000.
The weekly flights in Microsoft Flight eventually became so popular that the 16 player limit was almost always reached. I sensed a growing appetite for group flights that I realized my once-a-week flights could not satisfy. Thus this website was born...I envisioned a website that displayed a schedule of flights lead by different people from our community. At first it seemed people were a little shy/slow to start hosting their own flights, but with just a little time we now host multiple weekly flights throughout the week!
None of this would have been possible without the great people we have all met on teamspeak! Thanks to everyone and kudos to Warhawk for setting up the teamspeak server back in the early days!
