Well, this is my first attempt at trying to make an airport from scratch. As of this writing, it is really not finished yet. The airport is called "MASH 4077". It has a 1500' runway with 2 helipads. You will see roughly what was seen in the TV series by the same in the actual setting that it was shot in. Calabasas, California.

To see and use the airport, you need to get on our teamspeak server and right click on the title "Microsoft Flight / FSX" folder. Click the "open file browser" that comes up in the menu. Then, double click the folder called "MASH Project. Once open, you will find a MASH helicopter, and a MASH_ADEX_DC.bgl file. Highlite the file and press the down arrow in the list of icons above. This will download the file to your Downloads folder on your hard drive. (This is the default folder it downloads to; If you want it to go somewhere else, you have to tell it in settings.)

Once you have it on your machine, you want to cut or copy it and open your FSX root directory. Then find the Addon Scenery folder, open it and find the scenery folder. Paste the file into this scenery folder. You must restart FSX and make sure that when the splash screen comes up it finishes setup and indexes the new scenery. This is normal and desirable. If this happens, it installed properly. You may then go to the game and when choosing the airport, enter MASH into the "By Airport ID' space. You may choose to start on a runway or helipad. At this moment it is not acting right, as I have a few bugs to work out, and it will start you in the air above your start point. To remedy this, before unpausing, go to world on the top toolbar in FSX and click on map. When the map comes up, enter 0 (zero) for an altitude then OK. This will force your craft down to the ground. Be sure you put on the brakes and throttle down before you come out of pause mode.

From time to time, I will add to or fix things on the MASH scenery. I will let you know here if that happens. So far, I have updated this scenery about 8 times. I did most of those changes all in one day because everyone wanted to see it as I worked out some of the details. You will find an ILS for your small plane to fly to. Runway 18 has it and it's frequency is 108.9. It works, but about a mile out from the end of the runway, you will see that it takes you "through" a hill. Just pop up over it, and resume your landing. I know about it, and am researching a way to fix it. I may have to cut a trench into the hill ;-)

I really hope you like it, and I would be happy to hear your comments and criticisms. I am still learning, so be a bit understanding. I will entertain changing things, just let me know. Best of all, it's free.

p.s. The helicopter in the MASH project is free and looks like the chopper used in the series. It is provided by Hawg Dawg. For info on that, see (or talk to) him about it.
