What kind of music if any do you listen to while flying?
I created a custom pandora station called Flight Radio that's quite suitable (for the most part) to flying.
It's Jazz based. Try flying older aircraft when listening to this station, it really sets you in the era/mood for early aviation and it's associated atmosphere. Now all you need is some cognac on rocks once you reach flight level!
For people that are new to jazz give it a chance. I never thought I would ever like jazz but it has grown on me. Like any genre of music there are LOTS of bad jazz songs, so if you run into one you don't like just hit the thumbs down button to go to the next song.
What's nice about pandora is when you give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down, Pandora remembers and will play similar songs that you like in the future.
If you listen to pandora alot I would recommend installing "Ad Block Plus" for firefox or chrome. As the name suggests it blocks all adds on pandora.....and YouTube alike.
Anyways heres the link to the station I made: Flight Radio

I do recall one particular commercial flight wherein the first thing which played when I plugged in was jazz. I remember specifically how well it complimented the combination of coincidences -- the beautiful view out the window (I'm a window-seat-er), the lack of anyone else sitting in my row (hallelujah!), and a Sprite fizzing high above the top of my glass (cup) -- and turned an otherwise banal commercial rapid-aerial-people-herding into an experience actually worth remembering (according to my selective-memory brain, at least).
