  • KJAC Jackson Hole Regional Routes Major Update!

    Merry Christmas & Happy New Years pilots! I have been working slowly but surely on a few projects for the VA over the past 6 months. I know many of you enjoy the ORBX/FTX regions in America like Central Rocky Mountains and with KJAC being a hub, well it is inevitable that ORBX routes come to the VA! With my Christmas cash bonus I purchased FTX Central Rockies, Northern Rockies, and the Pacific Northwest with KJAC, KWYS, and KBZN! I bought these products because I wanted to help the ORBX pilots out there get the best experience possible and provide more quality routes that I am known (or so I hope) for. Please keep in mind that the routes I am posting here for KJAC are only 2/3's as the other 1/3 is not covered in ORBX and I am waiting to see what the schedule for ORBX in 2014 is so that I may plan on making the routes as enjoyable as possible.

    KJAC Routes:

    South Western Area:
    -------(54nm) (74nm) (87nm) (123nm) (58nm)
    KJAC -> KAFO -> KPIH -> KTWF -> KIDA -> KJAC

    Western Area:
    -------(154nm) (84nm) (80nm) (83nm) (112nm) (48nm)
    KJAC -> KSUN -> KBOI -> KMYL -> KLLJ -> KRXE -> KJAC

    North Western Area:
    -------(126nm) (118nm) (84nm) (138nm) (96nm) (67nm)
    KJAC -> KDLN -> KMSO -> KFCA -> KHLN -> KWYS -> KJAC

    Northern Area:
    -------(131nm) (103nm) (154nm) (162nm)
    KJAC -> KBZN -> KGTF -> KBIL -> KJAC

    Most of these circuits are 5-6 flights long and have an average distance of 90-100nm, this will test your skills as a GA pilot and as for Regional pilots should still offer a 45-50 minute flight depending upon conditions and procedures taken. All 3 major ORBX covered airports are included in these routes, I will also publish a list of freeware upgrades for these KJAC routes to help others who do not own ORBX territories in this area get the most out of their flights. I hope you like the destinations and distances chosen for these routes, it is my objective to have these uploaded before January 3rd of 2014!

    Thank you Spartan. What you and all the VA managers do for the community is noted and appreciated. I'll start my VA career with some of these VA flights listed here real soon.

    Regarding the question list in your poll above; weren't you already fired once?
    Respects, Bob ...

      I don't think I was fired per say, more like suspended.

        While I voted for the top one, I have to admit I'm a little sad to see no KSLC there... but that's an hour flight by 737. But I know we talked about it as more of a stop on a "national" type route.

        Thanks for making ORBX centric routes! I also splurged on the sale. I may have to go back and pickup KWYS and KBZN. A couple days left at these great prices!

        The only big think I can think of for 2014 already announced by Orbx is Northern California. Perhaps do some routes from Reno? The only airport in NCA I think would be cool to feature is O61 - Cameron Airpark. I did mention it to the Orbx guys and they noted it down for extra attention. You can taxi off the runway and into your neighborhood and park your plane in the driveway. It's a cool place that I used to live 1 mile away from.

          KJAC Route Map Available for viewing

          After many hours of researching and drawing up plans for KJAC I finally have them set in our Google Earth map planner for everyone to view. I hope you enjoy these routes as much as I have had enjoyment in creating them for ORBX users.
