  • Best Shot Competition #2 - Formations

    Screen Shot Competition:
    #2. Formations

Closed to new entries. See the results here!

Calling all pilots/photographers... If you thought flying in formation was hard, try doing it while looking through the viewfinder of a camera!

Let's see who can come up with the best in-game screenshot of aircraft in formation!

To submit your screenshot, post it below or send it to wingman@msflights.net.

    Rules:
    - Only the first 10 entries can be considered for voting at the end.
    - Have at least two aircraft in the shot.
    - Only cropping is allowed -- no other post-production, please.
    - Use one of the common virtual aviation platforms (FSX, Prepar3D, X-Plane, DCS, etc).
    - All submissions must be made prior to Monday, June 20th, at 06:59 Zulu (2:59 AM Eastern)(Sunday at 11:59 PM Pacific).
    - Only one official entry allowed per person (but extra screenshots are always nice!).

    Notes/Clarifications:
    - All 3rd party addons are OK... I'd love to see the best of what you've got for aircraft/weather/lighting/scenery/etc.
    - The aircraft in the shot can be your own, someone else's, AI, FSrecorder-ed, whatever.
    - Have as many (at least two) aircraft in the shot as you'd like!
    - Any type aircraft is allowed... this includes helicopters, balloons, fixed wing, one wing, two wing, three wing, floor wing.
    - If you already submitted an image, you can still change it before the deadline.
    - Have fun!

    Judging:
After the deadline or after there are 10 entries (whichever comes first), I will create a poll for public voting.

    PRIZES!!!!!!:
Well, nothing really, other than the pride one gets when being involved in such a cool competition, and prestige earned when winning. Get recognized for your creativity and skill as a photographer and a pilot!

Wow! That's a great first couple of entries. The pressure is really on now for some creative shots to compete with those.

@Razor: Thanks for the bonus pic. A nice new E-2C is a great addition to the hangar! But I've always wondered why they needed four vert-stabs... it just looks weird.

It's extra stabilization because of the dish... Redirects the airflow over the h stabs and rudder

Do the inboard V-stabs have articulating trailing edges (rudders) or just the outboard ones?

I believe just the outers do, I think the inners are made to direct airflow straight back behind the plane instead of spinning

Thanks 988, I'll take it since this was a tough one, and I've had lots of real-life to take care of in the last couple of days so this is the first time I'm catching up to the thread since Friday.
Creating the poll now... good luck!

Thank you Wingman. Sorry mine showed up as just a link. I forgot how to post it so it shows up as a pic, and it was late at night when I posted it.
