I've done a couple of these in the past with Mike N404.
So thought I'd post a video of how they are done in the real world.
The idea is they are used when there is no ILS and the vis is to bad for a visual approach.
There is a similar type of approach used by the UK military and also elsewhere around the world called a PRA (Precision Radar Approach).
Can be fun if your controller knows how to do them.
