  • FSXX Radios

Heres a question which I hope you lucky Beta/Alpha users can answer.

Are the radios on FSXX 8.33khz compliant?

I know most people reading that are asking "what is he on about???".

Back in the day, VHF radios tuned in 25khz steps.
    120.000, 120.025, 120.050 etc etc

It was decided that there weren't enough frequencies a few years ago, so the powers that be reduced the gap between the frequencies to 8.33 instead of 25.

All Flight simulators I know of so far, still use the 25k steps.

So Basically without going too much into it...

Do FSXX radios tune to 120.055 or 120.050?
If you don't use BOINC or World Community Grid then you should!

I know I saw that mentioned this year on one simulator. Either MSFS or P3Dv5, but I don't recall which...

At your request, Roo, I have successfully tuned coms radios to .005 increments in the FSXX Cessna 152. I can tune to 120.055.

      Respects, Bob ...

        Thanks Bob, appreciated.

That means the frequencies are 8.33 compliant and I've got some work to do to make my voice app compatible.
