  • Windows 10 download

For those of you who are waiting to download your free copy of windows and are stuck somewhere in the cue, like I was, and don't want to wait any longer, here is a link to download it now.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...load/windows10

I currently at 20% downloaded. *Update* I have windows 10 installed without any problems so far. I really like it a lot...it seems very fast. I think Cortana is wonderful.

Just make sure you do an upgrade. Do not download the ISO using the tool and perform a clean install first as you will not be able to activate. Do a single upgrade first, let it activate... then you can blow it away and do a clean install.

And of course if you have Prepar3d be sure to uninstall first before the clean install!

Trixter if you haven't gotten it yet try this - http://www.bidnessetc.com/48940-micr...d-error-heres/ (I've had to do the same basic thing to fix searching in SharePoint for people at my company)

And welcome to Windows 10! I've been loving it since last October, with very few issues (build 10130 was garbage).

That's awesome. So if they let you make a clean windows 10 cd would you use your old product key to activate? Or do they give you a new one? I was afraid they wouldn't let you do a clean install from the bios screen.

You will basically get a new one, but you'll never see it. You cannot use your old product key to activate Windows 10. So you have your activated Windows 7 or 8 running, perform an upgrade to Win10. It should activate automatically. That activation is stored on Microsoft's servers, and I'm a little unsure but may be written to part of the BIOS as well. After your upgrade you can do a clean install, and it will auto activate without typing in a product key. If you go straight to a clean install, without the upgrade first, you will be stuck unable to activate Win10 until you revert back to 7 or 8 and upgrade.
