I'm most curious about the recent mid-air collision between an F-16 and a Cessna 150, which resulted in the destruction of both aircraft and the death of both occupants of the Cessna over South Carolina on the late-morning of July 7. Just recently, the NTSB released a preliminary report.
One of my top questions was in relation to the speed of both aircraft (but primarily the F-16). Though the report does not directly address this, it may provide enough information for an approximation. I have my theories (about 110 kts on the Cessna and 250 on the F-16), but I'm curious to know if anyone wants to take a crack at the math (and the various assumptions on which it might be based).
