Stuck in Observer Role

Having difficulty with FSX. Was flying the Mission - Oil Rig Rescue, then tried to exit it out of the mission, but seem to be stuck there. Now, when I try to log on to Multiplayer and join a session, I get taken back to the mission that I was on before, with a screen that shows me as an observer, cannot change role or flight plan. Any thoughts?

I really don't know the cause nor the solution to your situation Navy. At the risk of sounding unknowledgeable, maybe try entering single player free flight, set up any flight, save it as a default flight by checking the little box you will see, and then exiting in order to save that flight. Then try reentering multiplayer and see if FSX offers you the normal options. Just a thought. If this continues, I'll pursue the isolation of the cause and see if one of our more talented techies can fix it for you.
