  • Scheduling a Group Flight.

Want to host a scheduled group flight?
    Follow these steps for success.

Make sure you schedule it at least 3 days in advance.
(This is to give our members a chance to arrange to be there at the proper time.)

The calender post you make for the event should roughly follow this template below:

FLIGHT NAME/LOCATION (date @ time EDT)

    Summary
(Small description of the flight, any history behind it, or what major landmarks/cities you will have in the flight plan.)

Time-zone BreakDown: Day of the week, Month Day, 2013 at:
    ?PM Eastern
    ?PM Central
    ?PM Mountain
    ?PM Pacific
(Substitute ? with times for each time zone)

    Flight Plan:
(Go to http://skyvector.com/, create a flight plan, click the link button on the top right, and paste the provided share-able link for this flight plan area. It's also optional to post in the flight plans section of the website and share your flight plan file from within FSX as an attachment.)

    Preferred Aircraft:
(Have a certain aircraft or aircraft type in mind? This is where that information should be posted, as well as links to purchase payware aircraft, or links to download freeware aircraft.)

    Preferred Scenery:
(If the region or flight plan has scenery that is not default, this is where you would post links to purchase the payware scenery, or links to download the freeware scenery.)

Hi everyone, I just stumbled across this planning tool you might like. If you know of something other than this that is better please post, because I found flight planning to be a real let down in FSX.
    http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/planG.htm

It allows you to build a flight plan based on MS Nav data and/or custom waypoints. You can plan a flight including what parking spot, departure rwy, approaches, etc, and then export it to a ".pln" file, save it to your FSX folder where your other flight plans are, and FLY! Its call Plan-G. I give it a thumbs up, heck, I suggest it. I was able to figure it out quickly w/o reading the manual. http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/plan-g/f...G%20Manual.pdf The only only negative I could find on it: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/395027-...killing-my-pc/

and when connected to FSX with some features open

        looks nice evil thanks.

Also Oz, when an event is posted it actually displays the event in your local time (if you selected your timezone when registering for the site). After clicking an event, check right above the poster's name in the blue title bar, it should say your local time. If not: Click "Settings" in the very top right of this website then click "General Settings" then scroll down and select your timezone.

Plan-G is awesome. You can also use it to create a flight plan, and import it into G-map on a second monitor for a crude GPS in MS Flight. But I do find Plan-G much easier to use than the built in flight planner in FSX.
