First, you find your IP address for your desktop. If possible, make it static. Do this by going to the start menu and opening the Run... command. You enter cmd and press enter. In the dos window enter IPCONFIG and then press enter. There you will find the IP address your computer is running on on your local network. Be sure to write the address down. You will need it later.
Making it static goes like this:
On WinXP, go to the control panel and select the network connections. Right click your local area connection icon and select properties. In the area with the scroll bar, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click properties. Enter the address you got above into the "Use the following address". Then add the default gateway (the address of your router).
On Win7, go to Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center> Change Adapter Settings. Right click on your network connection. Select properties. Find the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Click properties to change your IP address to the same as the first step.
Now you will have to go to your router to make your computer static at the same address.
Next, you go to your planG. Go to File>Help>User Manual. Open the manual to page 109.
Copy the .xml code (it goes across two pages, so you will have to copy twice) to a new notepad document. Save it as simconnect.xml
Save it to the same folder your fsx.cfg file is located.
Now, in planG, go to Options>FS Connection and enter in the General area the SimConnect radio button. In the SimConnect Settings area, select IPv4, then put the IP address of your computer. You got this from the first step above.
Enter 4506 for the Server Port/Pipe.
Now, start FSX and load it to an airport. On planG, select the Home tab. Once your FSX is done loading, press the "Connect" button on the tool bar.
