  • How to make your A2A P-51 Mustang sound as it should in mutiplayer!

Quick tutorial to tweak your audio so that in multiplayer, you hear other Mustangs sound as they should. Flybys sound as they should, and formation flying becomes a whole lot more fun!

    1. Navigate to your FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/WoP3_P51D folder

    2. Create a new folder titled "soundai" (Folder structure FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/WoP3_P51D/soundai)

    3. Copy all of the contents from the "sound" folder and place it in the "soundai" folder you just created

    4. Delete the "sounds.cfg" file in the "soundai" folder

    5. Download and install THIS file and place it in your "soundai" folder

That's it! Still a lot of experimenting to do but I plan to make a full tutorial about doing this for other aircraft as well. Sometimes, all it takes is copying the aircrafts sound folder to a new folder, renaming it to soundai and doing the same with the config, but more on that another time. Let me know if you have any questions.

why soundai? Does the aircraft not look for the sound folder?

And thanks for the work on the sound... I am interested in other sound information.

The soundai folder is a new folder, FSX looks for this folder first when looking for sound for AI aircraft (in multiplayer, other players are defined as AI). If this folder is not there, it uses one of 3 default sounds, all of which sound pretty terrible.

This would be particularly good for the C-130's. Thanks for the scoop!
