  • like more reveres thrust for your planes http://downloads.flyawaysimulation.com/pjfsxjet.zip

    if you do go to flyaway simulations and click fsx section and go to sound and go to bottom of that page and click on peter james sound jet pack set. it really makes you feel like you are being thrown thru the windsheild when the engines goes into reverse. all the sound items goes in sound folder and the ones in the regular folders goes in regular plane folders. i have all my planes set to his setup. man does the planes stop NOW not later.http://downloads.flyawaysimulation.com/pjfsxjet.zip

    it also makes the engines in reverse louder just like in real life

    here is what i did for these two planes

    here is what you look for these is for 2 different planes

    before changes

    [GeneralEngineData]
    engine_type= 1
    Engine.0= 5.500, -26.667, -5.583
    Engine.1= 5.500, 26.667, -5.583
    fuel_flow_scalar= 0.7120
    min_throttle_limit=-0.319946 erase the to the dot and put 70 see after changes below

    after changes

    [GeneralEngineData]
    engine_type= 1
    Engine.0= 5.500, -26.667, -5.583
    Engine.1= 5.500, 26.667, -5.583
    fuel_flow_scalar= 0.7120
    min_throttle_limit=-0.70

    first create new folder on desktop
    select plane
    go to air cfg and click on to open
    scroll down to general engine data
    erase min throttle numbers back to the dot then put 70 in that line
    save as
    click on desk top and find the folder you just added click to open
    click save till the file is saved to new folder
    then drag new cfg file to plane folder and replace with new cfg you just made
    all done

    i tested using a a 380 to 170 mph and dumped spoiles and reverse engines at eddm and had plenty room to stop. also used a 747 with same results 170 which is pass v1 speed and room to spare for stopping

    Is there a video where we can see it in action? I always thought that the reverse thrust in the game was actually not bad, but hadn't done a comparison to real life, is it comparable already? Or does this actually make it comparable to real life by comparison?

      no have not seen a video i have all my planes redone by using the above info all big jets i have at 70 c 130 at 55 and such if someone can tell me how to shoot vid from flight sim will be glad to do one and post it int the forums.

      maybe hawgdog could do one seen some of his vids would take longer to download than putting the said info int flt sim and trying it.
