I'll purchase one $ 60 academic license at launch, the better to train myself and others in our aviation skills. My motivation is primarily to invoke the more advanced hardware utilization offered by P3Dv2. I'll somehow offer a part time multiplayer host server which will NOT interfere with our normal FSX-FSOpen host server 24/7/365 operation. I will run this separate P3Dv2 host independent of the auspices and resources of msFLIGHTS.net, for I have received no dispatch, mandate nor permission to officially configure such a P3Dv2 host bearing our community's good name (yet). If our community decides by interested member vote to request such P3Dv2 official support, I will do whatever it may take to create such a host. If our community decides to withhold such P3Dv2 endorsement, I will explore multiplayer hosting, either concurrent or in parallel to our existing msFLIGHTS.net FSX-FSOpen hosting privately, independently, on my own. I emphasize that if the members vote P3Dv2 multiplayer down, like we did with a previous consensus on Digital Combat Simulations offerings then, like HawgDawg currently does with DCS, I'll provide a part time independent P3Dv2 host in some configuration I have yet to determine. If the interested membership additionally votes down even my independent P3Dv2 hosting plan, I will agree not to divert my time and resources to any P3Dv2 multi environment and I will maintain only our existing FSX-FSOpen host environment. If our community does mandates such P3Dv2 multi hosting, I will purchase a second academic license for hosting purposes.

As always, I seek your counsel and good advice on my P3Dv2 hosting ideas.
    Respects, Bob ...

        Hi!

I will buy V2 too, but perhaps not at launch, but a bit later, because first I want to have a new SSD and graphiccard for it and I want to know what are the reports about the Multiplayer functionalities. And at least FTX Global has to be available for V2.

I already purchased V1.4 a long time ago but stopped to use it after discovering that the Multiplayer functions aren´t usable.

So, for me personally its very important to have a functionell Multiplayer within V2 and I´m also ready to pay an certain sum of money for that....

I was initially thinking I'd wait a few days to see what the general community says, but since Prepar3d offers a 60 day return policy (at least with 1.4), I think I'll just jump in day one. Then hopefully I don't have to use that return policy (if it's still in place for 2.0... will definitely verify before buying).

ill probably wait a few days to see what everyone thinks about it. If its everything its hyped up to be, stable multiplayer and <$60 I'll buy it within a week of launch.

              Hi,

I like your thoughts regarding P3D2, Bob

I'll buy P3D2 right after launch and test it for my purposes. I do not expect a big performance increase on my machine, however I am interested in the way P3D2 uses modern hardware more efficiently than FSX does, expecially concerning VAS (important for upcoming more complex add-ons, see here for details). If it does, I'll drop FSX sooner or later. At the moment, a number of developers announced P3D2 compatibility of (at least) parts of their product line-up, including Orbx, A2A and Aerosoft. Looks promising to me.

Both thumbs up for a P3D2 test server. I'll be ready to participate in the testing program. :applause:

As far as I am concerned it is still missing key features out of the box.
                No WAAS RNAV approaches
No built in GPS other then the G1000

I might only have 2 reasons however those 2 reasons I would rather deal with in FSX, I already own FSX, so the question is, buy RXP or buy P3D/RXP at double the cost.

With what I've seen I would hate to throw any money into RXP. It seems the developer has gone AWOL, but is still taking peoples money for it. They haven't been updated in years, and nobody can get of hold of them.

I saw on avsim another company is looking into it, but can't tell you any more than that right now...

Sounds exactly like the guy who runs BayTowerStudios. Luckily, Flight1 handles their support and has a good refund policy. I'll be replacing it with Orbx's RV-4 in the near future, at least I know they include proper documentation and support with their products

Found it... Mindstar Aviation... I guess they mostly do avionics in full sims, but have a G1000 available currently, and are working on a GNS430/530 package that is P3D compatible.

Dates have come and gone, the dev has gotten frustrated with the community and rethought it, but last I saw it was back on... Anyway, something to watch for as it will be P3D compatible unlike RXP.

Just as a quick bump, the Mindstar GNS430/530 GPS has been released and it is P3Dv2 compatible (according to the dev).

I have not seen a single review of it yet, so if you bought it now you'd be walking on the wild side.

I'm not sure if it will work with default FSX data, but it does definitely work with current data only from realnavdata ($40/year): http://www.realnavdata.com/homesim.html
