Looks like Dave Wave has set up a server too... hopping on there may assist with his development of a new FSOpen version...

No problem JJ, we're all essentially playing the waiting game right now, I don't expect anything to drastically change in the wake of P3D2.0 release until sometime into early next year when we have a better grasp of what it's all about.

I know I won't be dropping money on something that we don't fully understand while we hope that it's all that we want it to be. There are plenty of other people out there to do that bit for me, but it's all about how you go about being a consumer.

        Hey Guys
First off, Bob , multiplayer works great . No problems there ... BUT.... Not what I [ we ] expected . No mods yet because I don't want people saying "did you modify it to cause these problems???" I set the graphic settings to just about max with decent frame-rates and , to me, they look almost flight like in the air , above 1500 feet. When on the ground though it is almost the same as FSX. The default planes look good on the inside but the added planes from Carenado and Just Flight look like crap on the inside unless you are 2 inches away from the panel and on some when you zoom in on the gauges you end up looking at the open air in front of the plane. friggin annoying...Speaking of gauges , the 3D cockpit view looks fuzzy or hazy like the fog in the pictures , especially in the addon planes, the cockpit is also very dark with the lights on .
Overall , not impressed but I am going to continue to tweak it and see what i get .

Also , forgot to mention 3 CTD's as well . Saitek panels are recognized but do not work properly . Hit trim down button 3 times on yoke and landing gear goes down ...sometimes , etc Not cool , FSX anyone ???

Hoping to get more done tomorrow. FTX Global installed and looks about the same. Maybe a little bit better colors. Subjective I guess. Running all sliders maxed out. The defaults are set pretty low for me. Frame rates seems to be holding above the 20 default settings with no problems. Of course not tried with 30 to 40 players. :-) Lots of things yet to look at and test. As WarHawk said let the old retired guys with poor consumer habits test it for you. Only kidding WarHawk..... :-)

Anyone willing to fire up P3D2 on a night flight and take some screenshots of the cockpit lighting? Hearing that it basically doesnt work at all. Perhaps even fire up a third party FSX addon that you know has good night lighting to be sure that it isn't just the P3D2 defaults that have issues?

So it looks like it is just the default aircraft then. Strange, doesnt look like there is a single light in there. Thanks Waterman!

It was very weird... one of the switches for panel lights in the VC was dead, wouldn't move at all. I think the overhead light is positioned wrong as you can see it on the external view. Probably needs to come down to illuminate the cockpit.

The Baron is the only one I tested, so others may be better.

Did you mouse over the fuses panel to see if any had popped out? This is Prepar3d, after all.
Take the time, a second to soar; for soon after, beckons a second more.

Good afternoon, everyone! I just got Prepar3d yesterday, and it's amazing! There's a few bugs.., but I'm sure the lockheed martin team willfix 'em up ASAP. Although, the strange thing is, In fsx I get a good 27-50+ fps. Though in Prepar3d, I lowerd every setting and I still only get 7-25fps. (FPS is set to unlimited).., might just be me.

One recommendation I've seen today is disable FXAA.. it should make everything sharper. Then just use the other antialiasing options for the best look. I'll give it a try later tonight when I'm able to get on. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/427257-...ver/?p=2861840

There is also a temporary fix for FSUIPC until Pete gets back from holiday: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?min...ewtopic&t=3855

I've seen things like hide the menu for better FPS...

The FS community is getting this thing figured out!

                            FSOpen.co.uk - msFLIGHTS.net Prepar3D v2 host server development association

The label and purpose of the msFLIGHTS.net P3Dv2 host server has been multiplayer configuration, connection stability and multiplayer performance analysis. I am in discussion with FSOpen's Dave Wave towards utilizing our current P3Dv2 host server at IP 71.231.12.143, BigBox Windows 8.1 OS for the development and testing of FSOpen ServerX software. The FSX communities associated with FSOpen sessions listing run FSX-FSOpen Server2 now. FSopen's Dave Wave has stated his intention to develop a P3Dv2 compatable version of this same set (or some subset) of FSOpen Server. I am lobbying hard for concurrency as I've defined that FSX-P3Dv2 multiplayer associated word elsewhere in this thread and on several forums.

The preliminaries of this arraignment between myself and Dave Wave does not now and will not involve our jmainguy TeamSpeak3 server and will not require any access to our TeamSpeak. FSOpen serverP3Dv2 development written communications will probably be undertaken using FSOpen forum.

The P3Dv2 host server machine involved currently bears the host name of "msFLIGHTS.net-P3Dv2". Association of this host machine with our community'e brand name was made by me with the implied approval of our members and staff present in a brief TeamSpeak main channel conversation on this host branding question on the night of Sunday, 24 November. This association and the use of our good name on this P3Dv2 multiplayer test configuration is open to reexamination at any time for any reason by msFLIGHTS.net members and/or staff.

Immediately and for the interim of FSOpen ServerP3Dv2 software development and testing, Dave Wave has been granted by me full TeamViewer access to IP 71.231.14.143, the P3Dv2 academic installation thereon, whatever software development files he may place there and the FSX and FSOpen Server2, Pilot Assistant, Flight Strips and Open Clouds programs as well as other host server specific access that he may require in this software development and testing project. The BigBox host server operating system may be toggled between Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 as necessary.

As I understand it, a P3Dv2 test host server operated by FSopen.co.uk and referred to in Waterman's post # 31 in this thread and on FSOpen and Prepar3D.com forums may cease operation. A yellow ribbon banner announcement of this FSOpen P3Dv2 test host has disappeared from FSOpen website and I cannot currently P3Dv2 multi connect to that IP 86.63.33.56. I was P3Dv2 connected to Dave's P3Dv2 host for 12 hours last night monitoring in-game chat, visitations and connection stability.

I will keep you all informed as this project develops. I invite your counsel to both Dave Wave as well as myself on this forum as well as FSOpen forum and Prepar3D.com forum (Dave Wave's thread there). I will come to our TeamSpeak on this subject as much as I can but real life commitments and business make my frequency of TS visits limited and their duration short.
                            Respects, Bob ...

I've asked our sister FSX community TBFSS (The Big Flight Simulator Site) advice on FSHost by ChocolateSoftware. ATC-Roo's reply is worth a read, as is the website main page describing in simplest of terms how this concurrency works. I am interested because I believe FSX-P3Dv2 concurrency will be very necessary to avoid division of our community as well as the greater flight simming world. I have this concern because of the increase in system hardware requirements for P3Dv2.
