New Orbxlibs 150215 Released - features new ObjectFlow DLL & patched FTX Central. Post from Ed Correia,Orbx:
        Hi all,

The latest Orbxlibs is now ready. On top of new library objects, this release features two important updates that address the issues that have impacted ObjectFlow and FTX Central.

Please read the following information carefully.

        FSX:Steam Edition (FSX:SE)

Firstly, ObjectFlow has been updated for FSX:SE. The Orbxlibs installer will update the unified DLL that resides in the ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_ORBXLIBS\Scenery folder.

This unified DLL has been a feature in the triple installers and newly released airports. There are still a number of airports that still use their own DLL which reside in the individual aiport scenery folders. To update these, go to the ORBX\Scripts folder and run the ObjectFlowUpdate.exe program. This will update all installed ObjectFlow DLLs for you.

This is not yet an update to SP2. It is only open beta at the moment. Some problems/bugs may exist, so use at your own risk. The official non-beta release to SP2 will only happen after they've identified, solved and confirmed as "fixed" any issues that arise in the beta. (Meanwhile, I'll stick with SP1B and wait for the official release of SP2, as ASN will automatically update at that time.)

Thanks for the note Storm. I noticed the same thing but wasn't able to reply on my cell phone. I will not be using the beta personally. I'll wait for the final release. Thanks for the heads up on the progress though Marty!

                Hi everyone,

Time for a quick update about what is happening with the beta.

First off we are very sorry for the confusion we have caused. The plan was to run the beta into this week however due to some miscommunications here in the studio we had to pull access to it early. This was completely our own fault and we are sorry that we were unable to give you any advanced warning.

The beta is now officially closed and you can opt out of it by doing the following:

                • Open Steam
                • Open the Library tab
                • Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition [g2610build]
                • Select Properties from the menu
                • Select the Beta tab at the top
                • From the drop down menu, select NONE - Opt out of all beta programs
                • FSX: Steam Edition will now update back to the LIVE version of the software
                • In the Steam Library, your game will be listed as Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

However, there is also some good news too. We are just adding the finishing touches to a new build of the update and due to the overwhelming success of this beta we will be offering this new version as a beta too. The response we have had from the FSX: Steam Edition community has blown us away. You have all been incredibly supportive, not just towards us but towards each other. We are extremely proud to be part of such a welcoming and helpful community.

The current plan is to release the new build of the update on Thursday (26th March) however please take this with a pinch of the proverbial salt as it may change – we would rather get it right and delay it than release something we are not fully happy with.

Just like before we will post in this thread all the information you will need if you would like to take part in the new beta.

A big thank you again to everyone who has helped us to get this far. We couldn’t do it without you.

                - Martin

                  Hello everyone,

Yesterday we mentioned that we were aiming to have new version of the update ready for open beta this coming Thursday (26th March). There has now been a change to this plan and the new beta is not expected to start until the beginning of April.

One of the main things that you told us during the last beta was that the update resulted in some compatibility issues with a small number of add-ons made by third party developers. We have therefore decided to delay starting the new beta so that we can work more closely with these developers and provide them with a longer period of access to the next build of the update so that they can make any necessary changes to their add-ons in advance.

Basically think of it like this, we have started the next beta however only third party developers currently have access to it.

This all means that by the time we open up the beta to players, third party developers will be in a better position to also offer updates to their add-ons which should eliminate many of the compatibility issues you told us about.

While we regret that we have had to do this we hope that the FSX: Steam Community understands why this has happened.

In the meantime we will continue to update this thread with the latest information and if you have any questions about the beta feel free to leave us a comment.

Thank you all for your help so far.

                  - Martin

Next News... ORBX has FTX Central V2 and the new orblib released http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/top...l-v2-released/

Runs with Boxed and Steam, for those who did not run the beta of FTX V2.. sonn as you install it, and start it, it will take awy the old FTX Icon, but if need, you can run the old from the "D:\FSX\ORBX\Scripts\FTXCentral" folder, for expl. you are not familiar with the library insertion points, do it with old FTX , than start V2 and it takes over...

Another thing to add, if you use Wilco of any Just Flight products, you probably noticed the blank gauges, and I use their Harrier a lot
                          C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces
Run all the installers in the files, and that should get some of the compatibility problems fixed with the simconnect, also incase FSUIPC has a simconnect error too

I've talked with Casey on this open beta patch and I will give it a try AFTER 24 hours has elapsed after its release in again attempting to host an msFLIGHTS.net FSX Steam server. I have been unable to host at all for 3 days now. Yes, we've tried it all with many technically knowledgeable staff and members offering advice. I have given up FSX Steam hosting until stability and functionality are clearly demonstrated. I will proceed on with other FSX-ESP engine based hosting (which works fine for me) such as a 24/7 PREPAR3D v2.5 server (experimentally) followed by an FSX boxed special configuration and high packet tolerant msFLIGHTS.net second server. I can only host one of these three FSX-ESP based platforms at a time from any single IP address due to their commonality of router port forwarding to a specific computer. I have three capable host computers now (thanks to a substantial hardware donation for PREPAR3D hosting by ATPJET, Brian Byers). It is my intention to host either an FSX Steam or an FSX boxed special configuration server out of one IP address and a PREPAR3D v2.5 server out of my other IP address. The two IP addresses are located in Seattle area and Henderson, Nevada.

I continue to hoard one last FSX Steam license available to anyone who will seriously attempt to host an msFLIGHTS.net 24/7 server out of North America. HawgDawg has agreed to consider such hosting and Hawg has first call on that one last license.

For now, I encourage you Steam pilots to make use of Novawing's Australian Steam server. It has proven itself to be stable, constant and well maintained. I counsel you all to ignore whatever ping based order you may find ~msFlights.net AU~ Steam server listed at and fly it for yourself and then make your own judgement. My experiences with ~msFlights.net AU~ Steam server have been excellent, much better than my own host or Kalo's Steam hosting attempts.
                                Respects, Bob ...
