I'm going to post it here rather than the proper place, but with this the Steam Holiday sale started and the DCS addons are also on sale, and I saw AeroflyFS as well... (I have yet to pull the trigger on that one).
As it was only $5 I bought FSX... I honestly don't know that I'll ever install it though. If it was normal $25 they have listed I would not have bought it.

Good to hear that Pete is willing to work on it....he estimates FSUIPC to be ready around the 9th of January.
For anyone that hasn't picked up FSX Steam edition yet I highly encourage you to do so while the $5 sale is still on (20 hours left). With the vast improvements I have seen I would say it is well worth it. I would say most of the future group flights I will host from here on out will be on the steam edition (mainly since we can port over our aircraft purchases over to the steam edition). I also just upgraded to Windows 8.1 so I don't think I want to go through the hassle of getting the old FSX to work with 8.1.
I hope that the hard working beta testers' developmental copies of FSX:SE will upgrade to the final release. Just in case, and for five bucks, I bought another copy under Blizzard29's gamertag, including setting up a new Steam account.
Pilots, for five bucks, listen to Kalo. Go get FSX:SE even if you don't intend to like it. We can report (IMHO) that this edition has ongoing development and support, is presented on a popular gaming platform (Steam), is immediately popular around here at msFLIGHTS.net, is multiplayer incompatible with legacy FSX, installs just fine both as a stand alone as well as coexistant with legacy FSX, which we will also fly same as usual.

For future reference, upon checkout you can select "Purchase as a gift" and add it to your Steam "Inventory" to hold on to for yourself for later, or to send to a friend, or yourself on another Steam account.
You will not be able to install FSUIPC until Peter makes some changes to it which will not be until at least 9 Jan 2015 due to computer crash and time of year. This info is from Peters post on his support forum.
