  • Repaints: Real Air- Lancair Legacy

    I have 3 paints I have created for the legacy

    Carbon X
    Jcom's repaint of Carbon X
    Race 98

    they all are just drag in the folder and then add this to the aircraft.cfg

    Please remember to replace the "x" in the [fltsim.X] box to correspond with aircraft already in the .cfg
    Code:
    [fltsim.X]
    title=RealAir Lancair Legacy CarbonX
    sim=RASLegacy
    model=
    panel=
    sound=
    texture=CarbonX
    kb_checklists=RASLegacy_Check
    kb_reference=RASLegacy_ref
    atc_id=N288CX
    ui_manufacturer=Lancair
    ui_type=Legacy
    ui_variation=CarbonX
    ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
    ui_createdby="RealAir"
    description="Created by Flyingdreamz"
    atc_heavy=0
    atc_airline=
    atc_flight_number=

    [fltsim.X]
    title=RealAir Lancair Legacy N4879G
    sim=RASLegacy
    model=
    panel=
    sound=
    texture=N4879G

    ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
    ui_createdby="RealAir"
    description="Created by Flyingdreamz"
    atc_heavy=0
    atc_airline=
    atc_flight_number=

    [fltsim.X]
    title=RealAir Lancair Legacy Race 98
    sim=RASLegacy
    model=
    panel=
    sound=
    texture=RenoBlue
    kb_checklists=RASLegacy_Check

    Any advice on doing repaints? I would like to work on some for another plane. What paint program do you use, where do I get a template to work on, how do I keep the plane's texturing (metal contact joints, rivets, etc.) when putting in a color scheme? Any tutorials that you know of?

    Those repaints look great. Nice work!

      Copout, here is a great tutorial for getting started. There are easier ways but I feel this gives a great understanding of alpha layers and repainting without proper paint kits..

      In place of Photoshop, you can use a program called GIMP which is free, though I do recomend using PS as its a lot more robust.
