  • Airshow and Plane showing.

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to plan a kind of unique airshow / plane sharing event (not sharing as in co-pilot sharing but sharing as in flying around in a plane you think is cool, and showing it off so people can expand their hangar and download it if they like it). I've put together a schedule of what I think we would do. Airshow will be at KPDK. THE PASSWORD FOR THE FLIGHT IS THE ICAO OF THE AIRPORT WE ARE FLYING AT.

(All times are PM) Eastern U.S

    5:00 - 6:00 Airshow.
6:01 - 7:00 Everyone circuits around the airport in your selected plane (to show it off)
    7:01 - 7:30 Airshow Finale.

I need participants for the airshow so if you want to join in let me know. (must be experienced)

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PLENTY OF SCREENSHOTS OF THE PLANE YOU ARE SHOWING OFF.

    Happy flying, AceAviation

What airport are you planning to host it at? I can bring the Mirage III, but I need a massive runway.

I forgot to put that, it will be from KLAX and if that doesnt work I can do AR51

AR51 might be the better choice, just because of how dense the scenery is around KLAX, but either is fine for my Mirage and it's your event so its up to you

I've already heard from a few people that they wont like it because of the boring scenery. Is Hong Kong (VHHH) ok? And can you do a 15 minute demonstration?

Hong Kong also has alot of space for people to park.

Your call man, you pick the place, I'll pick the plane. I can't do 15 minutes in the Mirage, but possibly something else. Might see what others are up to and collaborate with them.

When do you want to do this? I'd be interested in participating in any way possible.

How do you have intention of "showing" off your airplane if nobody has the download? Just curiuos if i'm missing something...?

Showing of an airplane so everyone can see it in the same way at the same time is always going to be a problem in FSX due to the well known aircraft substitution issue. Aircraft in a personal hangar are unique objects with specific graphic characteristics, and to see it as the owner sees it you must have it in your personal hangar. Otherwise if you do not have the same downloaded aircraft as the other person, FSX finds one in your personal hangar it likes and substitutes it (displays) that one.

If they are freeware then anyone who wants to see view it in FSX as the owner sees it must download it ahead of time or already have it in their personal hangar. This is one reason we use default aircraft for group flights allowing everyone to view the same aircraft in the same way.

I meant "showing off" as in posting pictures of what youre flying with. I will post the final summary of whats going to be going on tonight.
