We'll be starting out at CYTL Big Trout Lake, or Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (First Nations are the aboriginals of Canada), or KI for short, located in Northern Ontario. We'll be heading to the East/South East at an approximate heading of 116°, staying relatively low over the patches of lakes at a speed of about 150kts. Our destination is CYAQ Kasabonika, with a population of under 1000, it is home to some of Canada's fastest tree planters, some planting a fabled 3000 trees per day! Upon departing Kasabonika, we'll continue on our East/South Easterly course this time at a heading of 133° again at a speed of 150kts. Next stop is CYWP Webequie, and there is absolutely nothing interesting to say about this place. Quickly moving on, we're changing our course to the west/southwest and will be heading 212° to CYLH Lansdowne House, now known as Neskantaga First Nation. This place has an elementary school! High school kids are shipped off an hour and fifteen minutes by bus to Thunder Bay and back if they seek any sort of secondary schooling. Canada's first nations have struggled with illiteracy for many years because of situations like these. From Neskantaga, we'll be heading to our final destination at a heading of 185° to CYFH Fort Hope, also known as Eabametoong, accessible only by air or water in the summer, and ice roads in the winter.
