  • Wanting to plan a series of flights. a few questions, and open to suggestions.

So I like the idea of everybody being able to plan a flight and figured I would have a crack at it. What are some things I should keep in mind and consider for everyone to have a good time? Also, my flights are gonna be based around the scenery I have, so I would like to figure out who has what to avoid texture mis-matching. I think I have all the ORBX stuff for North America, (PNW, CRM, NRM, PF, SAK) and both New Zealand islands as well as FTX global. I also got Switzerland Pro X, which is just awesome.

When posting a flight in the event calendar where you want people to have certain planes & scenery, you should post the appropriate link to download/purchase them, respectively. When posting, make a note that you want people to have Orbx for a certain region.

Some other tips and tricks would be to make sure the aircraft type is general enough that people can find something they like to fly in that speed class.
Also, try your best to keep the flight between one and two hours in duration. Under an hour, and people will want to keep going, over 2 hours, and people will feel drained by the end.

Feel free to post in this thread: http://msflights.net/forum/showthrea...t-Banner/page2
If you'd like me to make an event banner for you to post on teamspeak and in the calendar event.

Lastly, make a skyvector &/or PLN Flight Plan file available for download for people in advance so they can prepare for the flight.

Storm has written up a great tutorial for creating flight plans, you can find it here.

I think its pretty evenly split between who has Orbx scenery and who doesn't, I made a poll a while ago that could use some updating but it should give you a general idea of which regions are the most popular, you can find that here.

Note that there wasn't a "none" option, so while a lot of people didn't vote who may have had the regions, those who didn't own the regions also couldn't vote.

I have found that 3-4 hops around 20-30 minutes each seem to be the best format. Like Warhawk said if its too long people can feel drained by the end.

But then again people can leave whenever they want, so if you want to plan a 5 hour flight and will be there the whole time feel free!
