  • Weekly State Hop: NEW JERSEY (Friday 8/30 @ 9pm ET)

    Summary
In the 19th century, factories in cities such as Camden, Paterson, Newark, Trenton, and Elizabeth helped to drive the Industrial Revolution. New Jersey's geographic location at the center of the Northeast megalopolis, between Boston and New York City to the northeast, and Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., to the southwest, fueled its rapid growth through the process of sub-urbanization in the 1950's and beyond.

    Time-zone BreakDown: Friday, August 30th, 2013 at:
    9PM Eastern
    8PM Central
    7PM Mountain
    6PM Pacific

      :joyous: Aircraft examples (recommended)
      Default:
      • Maule (ideal - cruises nicely in the 110-135 kts speed range)
      • DC3 (but keep it slow!)
      • Grumman Goose (but better and easier to fly is the freeware OZX version)

      Freeware (available from Storm's Skydrive):
      • Dragon Rapide (keeps up well)
      • Junkers 52/3m (big, heavy and harder to fly)
      • Super Cub (at 111 kts flat out, only just fast enough)

      Payware:
      • Cessna 185F Skywagon (Carenado - not the bush version)
      • DHC-2 Beaver (Aerosoft)
      • Beech model 18 (CR1)
      • L-21 Super Cub (Flight Replicas)

      :apologetic: Aircraft examples (not recommended)
      • J-3 Cub (default) - far too slow
      • Luscombe 8 Silvaire (freeware) - too slow
      • Auster J/1 Autocrat (freeware) - too slow
      • Ford Tri-Motor (freeware) - just a little slow at 107 kts flat out
      • P-51 (default) - far too fast, unless you really like wallowing around slowly with full flaps, gear down, 50" manifold and 2400 rpm
      • Any jet
      • Any rotorcraft
      • Any tricycle undercarriage
