  • Star Wars Day! May The 4th Be With You DeathStar trench run!

Hi star pilots! Looks like May the fourth is quickly approaching, so lets assault the DeathStar again!

Please join us as we celebrate 40 years of Star Wars by visiting a few sites used in the filming of the saga. Filming locations that we will visit include: Hoth, Alderaan, Mustafar, Naboo, and more!
We will finish the evenings fun with an exciting attack on the DeathStar as we re-create the Battle of Yavin!

This flight will take place using JoinFS. See here for details:

    SCENERY and FLIGHT PLan files:

    Aircraft:
We have a lot of distance to cover, so we will be flying the Wonderful X-wing and Y-wing that our buddy Storm spent many hours fine-tuning for last years Star Wars flight.

You can download them from Storm's Hangar: https://is.gd/StormsHangar looking in the Spacecraft section. The download contains both the X-wing and the Y-wing, and you should install them at the same time, following the PDF installation manual.

There are separate User Guides for each vessel. Have a try at piloting them both. Then make a choice for our May The 4th flights (or fly them both on different legs).

    Here's a quick comparison of the X-wing and Y-wing.

Attention all star-pilots, the event post now includes a link to the scenery and flightplan files that you will need for Thursdays Star Wars flight.
You will need these files in order to participate in the battle of Hoth and the battle of Yavin.

    A few things to remember:

You may find that the "Hoth" installer has created a flight sim 9 folder and placed the scenery/At-At model in there. If so, simply move the items to their correct locations in FSX.

Don't forget to "scan for models" in JoinFS after you install the X-wing, Y-wing and AT-ATs.

Also, don't forget to check out my 24-hour Star Wars watchtogether stream beginning 1am ET on the morning of the 4th! I will post a watchtogether link shortly before the marathon starts.

    Hope to see everyone there!

The Hoth installer was created for FS9 and puts the thing in an incorrect folder. I don't know if it works in FSX but I moved things a bit so that it goes into the correct aircraft folder.
