  • Australia Grand Tour! Leg 47 - The Red Centre Part 1 - 0700EDT

    G'day Pilots!

We are beginning our journey to the centre of the great continent of Australia! As we have learnt in this journey Australia is a big place, so it's time to breakout the Airliners!

For something a little different we will be using airliners for the next two weeks. Please note the extra length episode of this flight!

Two VA legs will be featured in this flight MSF 2751 and MSF2752.

We will be aiming for a cruising altitude of approximately 20,000ft at about 180KIAS.

This flight will be taking place using SimLink. The flight plan can be downloaded from my OneDrive.

    Weather

A word of warning about weather. The Jeppesen loaded weather is nothing even close to correct for this area. In fact it renders operation out of most of the airstrips here not viable. I HIGHLY recommend a weather engine such as Active Sky (payware) or FSrealWX (freeware). Alternatively you can use the Clear Weather function of FSUIPC. If you have any questions about how to do this please ask!

A Special Thank You to OZ Flyer and the VA Management. For all participants of the group flight who lodge PIREPS during this tour a 2x Time Bonus will be applied! Please add "Part of Novawing24's Australia Tour" to your PIREP comments to be eligible.

    Departure Time: 2100AEST (2200AEDT 0700EDT 1100Z)

Recommended Aircraft: Lockheed Constellation or similar propeller airliner. I will be flying the Just Flight L049 Constellation from P3D. If you do not have this there is an excellent one by Manfred Jahn available from Storm's Hangar.
Recommended Scenery: Novawing24's AusTour Scenery v4.15 Available Now from my OneDrive.
Recommended Terrain Mesh: Orbx Freeware Australia Holgermesh
Optional: Orbx Australia (Payware) + Ozx Australia (Freeware) + Ant's Aussie Airports Complete (for Tindal)

        Attention Pilots!

I have just been made aware that Funny time (aka Daylight savings time) starts on Saturday night / Sunday morning! Please note this flight is synced to ZULU / Australian Eastern Standard time.

What this means is that American Pilots get an extra hour of sleep before the flight! As the new start time is now 0700EDT!

        See you all Sunday!
