I concur. Doug changed the tone of a room just by his presence. Perhaps this is proof that he lives on in our memories, for it seems he has brought out the best in all of us, not only in this community but also in others.

Thank you for the validation, Wingman. Storm's post #31 is so very true. I have received a lengthy email reply from admin@fsflyboys (RC, Rick) returning our respect and gratitude that I tendered to FsFlyboys thru Rick for their participation and their server darkening. My standard signature includes my @msflights.net email address. I have received additional email replies there from several other FsFlyboys members and staff similarly appreciating the opportunity to remember our mutual member Idleline during this inspirational memorial group flight. May I take this opportunity to make our community aware of those correspondences which were directed to all of us at msFLIGHTS.net?

The spirit of inter-community camaraderie that this event generated impressed me. Other technical and political topics of inter-community cooperation have also come forth as a direct result of our gathering in common communication in remberance of Doug. I will report on those topics in other more appropriate threads, public and staff, and in forum PM's to relevant and interested members and staff. Those other topics include PREPAR3D server sharing with FsFlyboys and enhancement of inter-community cooperation.
      Respects, Bob ...

Please consider taking a moment to view it.

Even though I haven't flown for eons due to work and real life, I strongly remember listening to Dougs' conversations and his story of re-discovering 'that' helicopter he flew in Vietnam. He was truly kind, warm, and sincere. There were times at work I was just listening on TS3 and Doug epitomized the sense of community that has been part of the foundation of this place.

I have finally finished my tribute video from the screenshots I took of the flight. You can view it here:

              https://www.dropbox.com/s/2a0xtcvk87...light.wmv?dl=0

Keep in mind that this is my first ever video I've ever done, so it is not the best. I have a hard time deciding what music to add to it.

I also made a video of my flight from Santa Ana, CA to Redstone, and it can be viewed here:

              https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz69l74n1b...light.wmv?dl=0

It was such an honor and a privilege to fly in this event, and I was amazed at the huge turnout we had. I have never seen a tribute generate such a response. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.
