    FRIDAY FLOATS! - Adirondack

    K21>NY83>K03>NK60>2NK0

    FLIGHT PLAN
    • All legs are GPS direct.
    • We may change course on approaches, according to surface wind.
Download the PLN flight plans file here.

    CRUISE
    Speed: 120 mph (100-110kts)
    Altitude: Up to 5,000 ft

    AIRCRAFT
Float planes or amphibians. (All our airports are water strips.)
Default DHC 2 Beaver works very well (as does the Aerosoft payware one).
Goose, Catalina, Stingray, Snipe and Supercub are all good choices.

    WHICH SIMULATOR?
You can fly anything you like: FSX Classic, FSX Steam. Prepar3D etc.
Flight lead will be in FSX Classic.

    WEATHER
We'll use live weather. Expecting a gentle northerly breeze with some mid-level cloud.
Align into wind for all landings and departures.
Flight lead will be using Active Sky Next.

    SCENERY
    Default OK.

Highly recommended: FSgenesis US landclass (inexpensive payware).
FTX Global 1.30 and Vector 1.20 good but optional (expensive payware).
Vector users please see recommendations here.

Reminder: Bring your floatplane to K21 for our 9pm departure tonight. Although this flight's about enjoying the scenery, here are three trivia questions for those that like them:
    1. Which blunder was sorted out by international treaty in 1842? (Clue: We start there.)
    2. What kind of bear is associated with the highest mountain? (Clue: We fly past there.)
    3. How did King George of Britain become Queen of America? (Clue: We finish there.)

As always, answers and guesses can be shared during the flight itself (not here!).
And if you want any more trivia questions tonight, bring your own!
